There are lots of activities that you can enjoy while staying at Villa San Savino. Here you will find a short list. View of the valley from the pool Activities available at Murlo Estate There are many activities that you will be able to do while enjoying your stay at the Villa. Fishing in the lakes of the estate: there are many beautiful lakes in the propertythat you can reach either by car or on foot and there you can fish all the different kinds of fishes that live there undisturbed. Walking on the various trails all over the property: the Murlo Estate is a natural reserve as well as a farm and while walking all around you can meet many different species of animals like foxes, pheasants and hares. Antognolla Championship designed 18 holes Golf course now opening 15th March 2008. Within the estate at approximately 1,7km from the Villa (through a stunning private path across the nature reserve) there is the 18 hole Antognolla's Championship golf course. It is a fantastic and demanding golf course with the most stunning backdrop of Antognolla Castle. Guests of the Villa have special discounted rates for the golf course throughout their stay at the Villa. There are clubs available for guests to use and rental facilities at the club house. A private golf cart is available for the villa's guests upon request.

Lake Trasimeno
Villa San Savino is only 20 minutes drive from Lake Trasimeno which has a vast array of activities. Watersports include:
Alternatively you can visit one of the 3 islands on the lake, Isola Minore, Isola Maggiore and Isola Polvere. These can be visited by ferry from a number of the towns around the lake and they offer the opportunity to visit museums of local crafts, historical buildings or just wander in the national parks and discover the local flora and fauna.
In addition there are nine public beaches on the Islands or around the lake, where you can sunbathe or swim in the shallow water of the lake.
For children one of the best beaches is at Tuoro as there are lots of child facilities including playgrounds, ball pits, trampolines etc. There is a small beach with shallow water which is perfect for little ones to splash around in.
Tennis
In Umbertide (opposite Coop) there is a large tennis centre. Here you can hire both indoor and outdoor courts and we have a couple of tennis rackets that you are welcome to borrow.
Horse Riding
In the near vicinity there are a number of riding stables where you can book a riding lesson or go for a ride in the countryside or in the Murlo Estate.
The Frasassi Caves
The caves are open all year round and a visit can last approx 1 hour. The caves consist of an immense cavern and a series of large chambers, tunnels, wells and labyrinths which snake for 13 kms. Stalactities have been formed that over the passage of thousands of years, have entwined themselves to create stunning reflections on the surface of the water, and take on bizarre shapes. The caves are approx 80kms from Villa San Savino. www.frasassi.com Activities for children Maridiana Alpaca Farm Maridiana is a farm that breeds Alpacas, angora goats and selected sheep, situated in Tiber Valley approximately 10 minutes from Umbertide. Citta Di Castello Water Park This is an outdoor Olympic pool with water slides, child play area and child pool, with a bar for refreshments. Follow the E45 north in the direction of Cesena, and exit at Citta Di Castello nord. At the large roundabout take a right and follow signs for ‘Ospedale’ and ‘Olympic swimming pool’ with the Olympic rings sign. Citta Della Domenica Park A wonderful zoo / adventure land on the outskirts of Perugia. It features both domestic and wild animals, various play areas and a train. Parco del Sole ‘Parco del Sole’ is a wildlife park that spreads out on a "route" of about 4 km all along a river. There are about 300 species, and you can find a full series of services (bar and dining area, games area, football field, volley field, bowls field, picnic area) that will allow you to spend relaxing hours with the family. The park is situated just off the E45 south of Deruta, which is approximately a 40 minute drive from Villa San Savino. Perugina Chocolate Factory and Museum Any chocolate lovers can take a trip to the nearby Perugina factory and visit the museum and take a guided tour of the factory. |
