Villa San Savino is situated in Northern Umbria close to the borders with Tuscany and only 15 minutes drive from the bustling university town of Perugia.

The property is situated within the Murlo Estate which provides both privacy and security. Entrance to the Estate is through a gated entry and an approx 3 km gravel road and guests receive a pass upon arrival to open and close the entry gate.

From Florence Airport:

  • From the hire car parking lots, follow the road past the airport terminal (on you right hand side) until you reach some traffic lights, with an elevated railway line in ahead.
  • At the traffic lights turn right. There is no signpost.
  • The road you join is a dual carriageway. Stay on this road following signs to PISA.
  • After about 1.6km/1mile, just past a yellow AGIP petrol station (on the RIGHT), get into the right lane, following signs for ROME – A1.
  • Follow the signs to ROME A1 and go through the toll-booth. Collect a ticket. You will pay the toll at the exit off the A1.
  • Immediately after the toll, bear left signposted for ROME and stay on the A1.
  • Exit the A1 at the exit marked VALDICHIANA-BETTOLE-SINALUNGA.
  • Follow the road in the direction of Perugia, and take the Mantignana exit.

From Pisa Airport:

  • From the hire car parking lots exit the airport and follow the blue signs to FIRENZE.
  • The road immediately becomes a dual carriageway. Stay on this road, heading in the direction of Florence (Firenze)
  • The road will split into two directions, Firenze and Livorno. Continue to follow signs for Firenze.
  • Follow this road until you see an exit for SCANDICCI and A1 Milan/Rome (also signed Bologna/Rome). Take this exit and follow signs for ROMA and head South on this highway. As you go through the toll, you will need to collect a ticket. You will pay for your journey when you exit the highway.
  • Exit the A1 at the exit marked VALDICHIANA-BETTOLE-SINALUNGA.
  • Follow the road in the direction of Perugia, and take the Mantignana exit.

From Central Florence:

  • From your hire car collection point on BORGO OGNNISSANTI (one way street), follow the road to the first junction, where you turn left into VIA CURTATONE. At the end, follow the river around to the left and then at the first bridge, turn right and cross the river over the bridge on the Ponte Vespucci bridge.
  • Once you have crossed the bridge, turn right along the river on the Lungarno Soderini road.
  • Take the first left (just before a brick arch with a stone tower on its right) into Viale Le Mura di Santa Rosa.
  • Follow the road straight over, keeping the fortress on your right, into Viale Ludovico Ariosto.
  • At the end of the road, there are traffic lights. Turn left and follow the blue igns for SIENA/green signs to AUTOSTRADA A1.
  • At the next traffic lights, go straight on and follow the blue signs for SIENA/green signs to AUTOSTRADA A1.
  • Stay in the right hand lane and at the roundabout of Porta Romana bear right, following the blue signs for SIENA.
  • Follow this road as it travels slightly uphill, and continue to follow the blue signs for SIENA.
  • You will be obliged to turn right, following the signs to Siena, and then continue straight on at the crossroads, still following for Siena.
  • You will be obliged to turn left towards Siena. Get into the right hand lane as you cross over the iron bridge and then turn right at the T-junction towards Siena.
  • Follow this road, bearing left and through the village of Bottai.
  • At the end of the road is a roundabout, which is a big junction. Take the  first exit marked “A1 ROMA-BOLOGNA”.
  • Follow the signs to ROME A1 and go through the toll-booth. Collect a ticket. You will pay the toll at the exit off the A1.
  • Immediately after the toll, follow the signposts for ROME and stay on the A1.
  • Exit the A1 at the exit marked VALDICHIANA-BETTOLE-SINALUNGA.
  • Follow the road in the direction of Perugia, and take the Mantignana exit.

From the Mantignana exit…

  • Follow the directions for Pierantonio, then Antognolla, then Umbertide.
  • You will now reach the village of San Giovanni Del Pantano; after the village you will see a castle on your left and on the right you will see a street going up-hill. Take this road and bear right till you reach a chain at the beginning of the slope.

From Rome:

  • Take the A1 towards Florence, and take the ORTE exit.
  • Follow the E45, to Perugia.
  • Pass the Perugia exit, continue in the direction of Cesena.
  • Exit at Pierantonio. Turn left and follow the directions for Antognolla.
  • After the castle of Antognolla and golf course on your right, you will see a road on your left at the end of the golf course. At the beginning of this road there is a bar, go to the paved road on your right head up hill and come to a chain.
